Music at Summer Fest
West Seattle Summer Fest is bringing you a fantastic range of music, sure to engage everyone. Come on down early as our lineup starts at 3 pm Friday and at noon on Saturday.
Our Friday headliner is Naked Giants, a Seattle-based trio comprised of Grant Mullen on guitar and vocals, Gianni Aiello on bass and vocals, and Henry LaVallee on drums. They are jamming a unique blend of garage, grunge, punk, and surf. It’s a great sound for moving your body! Check out “God Damn! What I Am” here https://youtu.be/w5aZjczhyd4
Saturday, welcome local favorite True Loves, whose danceable retro-instrumental sound is created by drummer David McGraw, bassist Bryant Moore, guitarist Jimmy James, Iván Galvez, and four horn players: trombonists Jason Cressey and Greg Kramer and saxophonists Gordon Brown and Skerik. Their website says it all: “Listening to the abundant sounds of the Seattle-based funk & soul group, The True Loves, is like walking down a favorite neighborhood street, slapping-five with friends, checking up with clerks in their stores, admiring your own dark sun-glassed face in their windows, ducking under flowerpots and smelling the familiar smells of your most cherished locale. The band is its own block party.” Check out their sound on KEXP here
